MARCH AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE NEXT SATURDAY

We have been asked to participate in the "March Against Gun Violence" next Saturday, May 12th. Our team will need to be at the Tolson Center on Benham & Chapman between 9:30 and 10:00. We will provide food and minister the Word to the people. Information about the event is below. Please let us know if you plan on being part of the team.

A March against Gun Violence


What:
Family members, friends, community members, and anyone else who is concerned about the violence that has lead to unnecessary death and criminal activity in our community is invited to participate in a March from Hawthorne Elementary School to the Tolson Center . The March will be followed by speakers, food, music, and fun activities at the Tolson Center .

When:
Saturday May 12, 2007 @ 10am followed by a
NEVER FORGET! Community Rally @ Tolson Center (11-12pm)
Activities will end @ 2pm

Where:
March registration will begin @ 9:30am @ Hawthorne Elementary
March begins @ 10am
A NEVER FORGET Rally @ Tolson Center will begin @ 11am
Fun activities @ Tolson Center 12-2pm

1) To work to pass laws and ordinances requiring the safe storage and locking of guns that are in the proximity of youth.
2) To prevent the unnecessary loss of life from gun violence.
3) To always remember the children and families’ that have been victims of gun violence.
4) To educate the community of the harm that guns have the potential of inflicting.
5) To produce events that will raise awareness of gun safety and education.
