Dear Friends!
What a weekend we are having in JESUS here in Daytona Beach! We kicked off the Beach Reach 2006 with an opening service at the Jesus Center with Pastor Frank Greshem and then hit the sand on Friday morning with the team of about 50-60 people!
It was sure HOT out there, and I am not taking about the near 100 degree temperatures either! I am taking about the FIRE of the Holy Spirit in the midst of those who would dare to declare his name among the nations!
Friday night the team went to the Board Walk and ministered around the giant band shell where a concert was going on. We are seeing people saved, and delivered as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is been preached and demonstrated.
The first day on the beach we stopped a man who just so happened to be an off-duty police officer. As we shared with him I told him that he may not know it, but that he is an officer of the Lord Jesus Christ. He looked somewhat puzzled by that statement then I shared with him that ALL authority and ALL rulers are appointed and UNDER the authority of Jesus: The King of Kings.
We then got to pray with him before he rejoined his family down the beach. A few minutes later, Kayla and I were approached by a woman who said, "Did I just see you praying for that man?" I answered, "Yes, you did!" She came back, "Wow, I have never seen anyone doing that on the beach before!"
We were able to share with her and to agree with her for the healing of here mom who had just undergone back surgery. I immediately thought about Matthew 5:16 that says,
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
We have got to make it a PRACTICE to let our light shine in a darkened world. Everyone else has gotten BOLD enough to "come out of the closet" and I think it is HIGH TIME that the BODY OF CHRIST comes out of the closet and SHINE THE WAY GOD INTENDED FOR US TO SHINE!
Yesterday we took the team to the Daytona International Speedway that was hosting the Pepsi 400. Someone asked me if I was a NASCAR fan, I told them, "I am a fan of ANYTHING and ANYPLACE that can draw me a crowd in which to witness JESUS to!"
A crowd estimated at 200,000 was on hand for this race! THAT was what I was looking for! PTL
Right before the start of the race (we had already been there witnessing for several hours) I stopped a young man "scapling" tickets in front of the race track. He was supposedly a "Christian" but come to find out he realized that he wasn't! I was blessed when the "scalper" got "scalped" by the HOLY GHOST and knelt there on the sidewalk with me to pray! On the 21st of this month, Melanie and Kayla and I will be flying into Chicago where Terry Shuff (Raven Midwest) will be picking us up for a weekend of ministry and outreach in their territory.
We'll be hitting the streets that Friday night, then we'll be conducting a neighborhood outreach on Saturday and then preaching in a couple of inner-city churches on Sunday as well. We're looking forward to getting up there and helping to "equip the saints for the work of the ministry." These guys are just all awesome and truly determine to "shake up the Kingdom for Jesus Christ!"
In the past six weeks, we have been blessed to see people come to Jesus from coast to coast. At the end of May we had a team in New York City. This past month we were in San Francisco and Northern California and just last weekend we were in Los Angeles' Skid Row and Hollywood Blvd.-- now we're back home on the East Coast winning people to JESUS! PTL
Friends the HARVEST IS RIPE!
Joel 3:13-14 "Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision."
Thank you all so much for helping to send us as laborers into the harvest fields. The ministry that God has called us to do through RAVEN is very unique. I really can't think of a ministry that functions and operates quite like this one does. It is truly a God-birthed and Holy-Spirit empowered work. Just he "networking together" of people and churches across America---without the hindrances or boundaries of racial, socio-economic, or denominational lines is TRULY a miracle!
You prayers, encouragement, involvement and financial support are what God is using to reach so many people who might otherwise go unreached for HIS Kingdom.
Because of the type of ministry that this is: We do not have a specific "church" or "denomination" that funds this ministry and unlike the local church we don't pass the plate two or three times a week for the tithe and offering.
We have to depend upon the Lord Jesus Christ to speak to the hearts of individuals to sow financially into this ministry. This isTRULY a faith-based ministry! (Believe Me!)
I have had many people write or call me about sending us their tithe instead of paying it to their own home church. They say, "You know, my church doesn't really need it anyway and we like what you guys are doing."
LISTEN: I always tell them "NEVER send your tithe to us if you have a home church that you are a part of. The tithe is not yours to decide where it goes. The tithe is the Lord's and He has determined that it be taken to the "store house" where you are fed and nurtured."
Some may very well disagree with me on this, but I am convinced that if people will be faithful in tithing to their local church, that God will bless them MORE THAN ENOUGH to send other ministries (like RAVEN) financial offerings over and above the tithe.
YES< /strong> we need your support. YES the tmes are very lean financially. YES the need is growing daily. YES there is a very real urgency. BUT we believe that God ALWAYS honors obedience to HIS WORD.
So, if God brings increase into your house as a result of your faithfulness and lays Raven Ministries upon your heart to support--this would certainly be a great time to act upon the urging of the Holy Spirit.
